About the Medical Assisting Program:
The Medical Assistant program prepares students to seek employment in a medical office and
or clinic, performing administrative and clinical duties: including medical records management,
office management, financial systems, laboratory procedures, medication administration and
much more.
Students will learn how to:
Create meaningful relationships, learn new and innovative skills, demonstrate critical thinking & problem solving skills, be part of team, participate in service learning, obtain leadership skills and much more.
Have the desire and ability to learn and perform tasks required of a physician and staff, complete a 160 hour externship, acquire the basic knowledge of human anatomy & physiology, diseases and basic medical terminology and be part of a professional medical team. This means students will work in teams, have concern for the welfare of others, accept a high
degree of responsibility and hold a high standard of professionalism.

- Maintaining Medical Records
- Sustaining Asepsis Techniques
- Performing IV placement
